FAQs

Soft Washing is the use of a LOW-PRESSURE application of cleaning chemicals and water rinsing to gently clean a building’s exterior. This is the safest and most effective method to remove algae, dirt, dust, cobwebs, wasp nests, etc. The cleaning agents break down the organic soiling and kill any algae at the root, removing it completely from the building in a gentle fashion that will not cause other damage. Soft Washing is safe for nearly all building materials and types and is even gentle enough to clean window screens in place.
Pressure Washing is the use of high-pressure water jet nozzles to forcefully clean the substrate. Traditional pressure washing should only be used to clean concrete, stone, metal, and other likewise hard materials. Pressure washing can cause damage to softer materials like hardy plank siding, paint, stucco, mortar, wood, and other likewise softer building materials.
Yes. Because the cleaning agents used in Soft Washing are designed to kill organic material, it can be harmful to plant life. HOWEVER, with proper care and mitigation practices in place, surrounding flower beds and plant life can be easily protected during the wash process. Our crews ALWAYS instill property protection measures at every job to ensure that no damage comes to your plants and flower beds. Property protection is our highest priority!!
Roof Washing and Soft Washing are the same, only with Roof Washing requiring much stronger cleaning chemicals and more property protection measures for our teams to implement during the cleaning process. Roof Washing is safe for ALL roofing materials and is the only cleaning process approved by ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association).
YES, ITS WORTH IT! Ever notice those dark black streaks or even green patches on your roof or your neighbors’ roofs? Those dark areas are a specific type of algae called Gleocapsa Magma. This specific “roof algae” grows on asphalt shingle roofs, feeding off the limestone in the shingles, and thriving in humid climates (like we have here in the Houston area). Moss is another enemy to roofs, with its very destructive roots which burrow into the material they grow on. If left untreated, these types of algae and moss can severely degrade and weaken the shingles, causing significant granular loss and shingle break down. The worse the algae/moss growth, the shorter the lifespan of the roof will be. Simply having your roof washed every 3-5 years will keep your roof algae free, extending the roofs lifespan and durability for years to come.
For general cleaning, we recommend the following:
Roof: every 3-5 years
House siding: every 1-3 years
Concrete: every 1-3 years
Windows: every 3-12 months
Gutters: every 6-12 months
Dryer Vent Cleaning: every 12 months
